Velaa, Randheli, Jani: three ideas of a private island

All three sit in Noonu. One is an owner's island. One is a maison. One is a second Soneva. None of this is a proof that a guest is turned away.

Velaa Private Island opened in 2013 in Noonu. It is one island with an owner. Cheval Blanc Randheli, on the same atoll, is a maison: LVMH, a system that will still be there if the owner of a single island is not. Soneva Jani, also Noonu, opened in October 2016 as the second island of a company the founders then still ran. Three arrivals. Three different kinds of private.

What we will not print is a door policy. There is no published rule for who is refused at Velaa, and no case of a refusal in the file. The island is sold as selective. That is a positioning. Book Velaa to be a guest on someone's island. Book Randheli for the maison. Book Jani for the photograph. A boat that can arrive after dark is a different atoll.

The source is the file. This page is the reading. An operator is the right source for an opening date and for what the rate includes. It is not the last word on ecology, on history, or on its own success.

The last line

The desk can ask. It cannot invent a door.

Where the house is open, that is the official rate and the privileges that house actually honours. Where it is not open, the answer is that it is not open. Miles and status are not a promise on a project with no reservations.
